Blogger's Notes: Nessun dorma
I first heard this operatic song when it was played in the end part of a movie starring Barbra Streisand & Jeff Bridges, the title of which slips my mind (can't remember the year either). Can you help me on that, please? She was a smart ugly duckling-turned-lovely swan while he was a pretty woman-phobic college professor, or somethin' like that.
Well, on to Nessum Dorma...
Though enchanted by the song I failed to get its title as it was foreign sounding. However, the melody lingered in my senses. After a loooong while, I saw Michael Borton did his own thing on the aria in one of those Academy awards nights. Putting all the possible word combinations together and with the help of the internet -- Eureka!! -- in 2004 , I had in my possession the MP3 of the Nessun from grandi-tenori.com . Mind you, not just any other version but the then difficult to find Jussi Björling rendition. It was recorded from his Swedish radio concert in November of 1944 (! )
I have learned that so many artists had their own take on the Nessun but this one by Björling stands out from all the rest. Well, I have to give my nod to that . I've heard almost all versions available and I'd say I prefer the slower, classier singing style of Björling. But,of course, it's a matter of a personal taste; others would have their own preferences.
In current times, Björling is regarded as one of the century's greatest artists. He had a short career as another opera great, Enrico Caruso, who died at the same age of 49.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I understand that Björling's climaxing high B is the longest stretch done on the Nessun? Any opera fanatic out there?

Blogger's Notes: YURI'S NIGHT2008
Hey guys,
Yuri's Night2008 is my first ever creative writing piece. I blended sci-fiction, conspiracy theories (NWO, alien invasion), end of days prophecy with real description of things and events: planet Zeta Reticulan, abductee's accounts, Constellation of Reticulum. Anyways, I'll enumerate below the real & fiction part. Consider this a disclaimer or sorts, hehehehe:
1) Yuri's Night is, of course, real. It is celebrated yearly in remembrance to Man's achievement to 'conquer' space. The fiction part is that, Yuri's Night2008 celebration is a cover up to a 'conference' by Aliens & those behind the NWO and is being held at the White House.
2) Planet Zeta Reticulan and Zeta Reticuli are real. Constellation of Reticulum is really a constellation.
3) That Zetas or Ebens 'work on a schedule that is in accordance with the movement of their own sun and thus have their own date and time system' , 39 light years away fr earth, 9 months to travel, alien grey's culture consisting of only 1 species = are documented. The fiction part is the 86 years (2094 and 2008) time difference.
4) alien abductions are documented. One example is the very popular Hill Abduction or otherwise known as the Zeta Reticuli Incident
5) According to documents from the 'Serpo Project', Zeta or Ebens first visited earth about 2000 earth years ago.
6) Zeta aka Eben aka Grey aliens do have spindly arms & legs. But, the 'raising of 2 arms & wiggling of fingers' is but a product of my imagination to illustrate how Lady Ebe look like.
7) NWO is a conspiracy theory & 2012 is an end of days prophecy
8) An alien spacecraft engineer (Skret) is navigating the crafts from their planet, Lady Ebe and her comrades being unconscious and without access to their memories during their travel, are products of my imagination.
I think that's about it. Just post your comments or questions, if you have any.
I hope you enjoy reading YURI'S NIGHT2008 as much as I enjoyed writing it. T'was tough but enjoyable.

Blogger's Notes: Howard Hughes, Eccentric Billionaire
Just when I thought his story would not shock me again, I was shocked- again! - while doin' the research for this blog. I didn't realize the extent of damage he got himself into. He was a debonair turned into an unkempt, unshaven shadow of his former self.
Well, let me get into the moral of the story:
1st: it's ok to smell like a skunk once in while. Try not washing your face the entire day. Don't you pity that poor slimy stuff called facial oil not having anywhere to settle? Let it thrive on your skin for, like, one or two days (I do not believe I'm sayin' this! *laughs*).
2nd: and this one's serious- our childhood experiences mold us to be what we become in the future. They either restore orbreak us ( I sound like a granny ).
